Dr Sammyh Khan recently attended the 11th Biennial Conference of Asian Association of Social Psychology (AASP), which was held in Cebu City on the island of Cebu in the Philippines this year. Other than organising a symposium on Social Representations of History (SRH), he was elected on to the executive committee of the AASP.

After the conference, Sammyh participated in a workshop in the municipality of Medellin as part of an international project that he is working on together with a team of international researchers led by Professor James Liu (Massey University). While in Medellin the research team took the opportunity to tour the area together with local voluntary organisations to observe how they were applying social psychological theory to devise strategies for typhoon preparedness.
